After defeating Lane United FC 5-1 last Saturday, Ballard FC will be facing Oly Town FC from Olympia, Washington this Monday, May 30th. Kickoff is at 2:00pm.
Ballard FC has made Monday’s game ‘Henry’ themed, celebrating the artwork of local Ballard muralist, Ryan Henry Ward.
To further honor Henry, Ballard FC has collaborated with the artist, replicating his famous soccer mural to create a ‘Henry Kit,’ which will be worn by the team for the May 30th game! There will be 100 of these kits available for purchase at Interbay on Monday before kickoff. For more information regarding the ‘Henry Kit’ click HERE.
Oly Town FC is coming into this match with a 0-2-0 record, with losses against both Capital FC and PDX FC.
The match will be viewed by a sellout crowd at Seattle’s Interbay Stadium and will be broadcast live at goballardfc.com. If you weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket, you can join fans and supporters at Reuben’s Brews Taproom to watch the match on the big screen.
Head Coach Jason Farrell on the match: “The game versus Oly-Town will be an extremely important test for us. Oly-Town will be a natural rival and played a very good game last weekend against Capital FC. Our main priority for the game will be to make sure we don’t read too much into our own result last weekend. We need to be proud of the way we played but we also need to understand that this is a very competitive division with a lot of great teams and if we let off even just a little, we could be in trouble. We cannot consider ourselves a great team until we prove that we can be consistently successful against the entire division.”
The play-by-play broadcast will be called by Andrew and Jim Harvey and will be available starting at 1:45pm on the team homepage. A Seattle Native, Andrew Harvey is the lead play-by-play broadcaster for the MASL Tacoma Stars and performed play-by-play duties for Tacoma Defiance from 2017 to 2021. A former goalkeeper, Jim Harvey played in the first- ever NCAA Division III national championship for Swarthmore College and has worked for over 50 years as a broadcaster, coach, and referee. This father-son broadcast duo has called games together for over a decade, previously in USL League 2 as the commentary team for the Kitsap Pumas in Bremerton.
Ticketholders should arrive early. Doors open at 12:30pm for the 2:00pm kickoff and fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of Reuben’s Brews beers, including the team’s own Up The Bridges! American Pale Ale in the Reuben’s Brews Foundation Beer Garden. Levantine Cuisine food truck and Mainstay Provisions food tent will also be available to purchase food from before and during the game.
Monday’s ‘Henry’ themed match is sold out, however, tickets for future matches are just $15 for general admission or $12.50 for standing and they are available for advance purchase.
