Wear your hometown heart on your sleeve with the Ballard-to-Bergen home kit! Inspired by the connection between Ballard and our sister city Bergen, Norway, this kit showcases map illustrations of both towns, united by a classic Ballard FC design.
With this year’s design, we were inspired to pay homage to Ballard’s deep Nordic roots. To this day Ballard and Bergen share so much in common – shipyards, evergreens, rainy winters, near obsessive love for cured fish – but did you know that between the 1880s and 1910, roughly 1 out of 10 Ballardites were Scandinavian? Norwegian was even taught in Ballard schools at the start of the 20th century, and Ballard still hosts the largest Norwegian Constitution Day parade outside of Norway (this year’s is on May 17th – we’ll see you there).
