As the 2024 season approaches, Ballard FC is thrilled to kick off the unveiling of our 2024 roster. Today, we’re proud to introduce the first five players returning for their third consecutive season with Ballard FC.
First Five Players Announced:
1. Peter Kingston: Our first player announcement for the 2024 season was the USL2 National Final MVP himself, Peter Kingston. Peter scored 7 goals and added 13 assists last season in USL2 play, including the game-winning goal in the national championship.
2. Leo Burney: Leo started all 17 USL2 matches last season, leading the backline through the National Championship. Leo was named to the All-Ivy First Team this past fall with Penn for his third season in a row.
3. Alex Mejia: Alex returns to Ballard FC for his third season after a stint with RCD España in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras. Last season Alex scored 7 goals in just 5 USL2 games played before his in-season transfer.
4. Taketo Onodera: Taketo returns to Ballard FC after being named All-WAC First Team with Seattle University this fall. Taketo featured in 15 USL2 games last season and scored the game winning goal in our national semifinal match.
5. Christian Engmann: Christian was a mainstay in the backline the past two seasons despite injury setbacks throughout the way. A dominant set-piece threat, Christian has scored four career USL2 goals for Ballard FC as a center back.

US Open Cup Roster Notes:
The US Open Cup roster will be mostly made up of players that will also be on our 2024 USL2 roster. The core of UW, SU, and SPU players as well as other Seattle-based players will compete in both the US Open Cup and USL2 season and we are excited to welcome additional players to participate in our US Open Cup run. We will announce the full US Open Cup roster in the lead up to our first round match!
