Ballard FC, the reigning USL2 National Champions, announce they will be hosting the first round match of the U.S. Open Cup against Spokane Velocity FC. The match is scheduled to take place at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, March 20th, at 7:30 PM.
Having clinched their spot in the U.S. Open Cup by virtue of winning the USL2 National Championship, Ballard FC is eager to showcase their talent on a national stage amongst professional clubs. This milestone marks a significant moment in the club’s history, signifying their growth and commitment to excellence.
“Qualifying for the U.S. Open Cup was a major achievement for our club but hosting the first round match is a dream.” said Ballard FC Co-Founder and President, Sam Zisette. “This historic tournament provides incredible opportunities for small clubs like ours to compete against professional teams in competitive, do or die matches. We’re incredibly honored and excited to host the first round match against Spokane Velocity FC.”
Spokane Velocity FC is a third division professional club competing in USL League One. This is the club’s first year in existence. With seasoned professionals in the team, they will prove to be a challenge for the amateur roster of Ballard FC.
