This Wednesday night Ballard FC is honoring their social impart arm, the Bridges United Foundation, as they host the Tacoma Stars at Pagliacci Pitch.

The Bridges United Foundation is the social impact arm of Ballard FC and Salmon Bay FC, North Seattle’s USL League Two and USL W League soccer clubs. The foundation serves as the strategic umbrella for all community work undertaken by the clubs both during the season and throughout the year, focused on free soccer camps and clinics in Western Washington as well as an innovative multi-sport academy model focused on holistic youth wellness.
Currently, the foundation is running a free soccer camp at the Georgetown Soccer Playfields from Monday to Thursday this week.
At Wednesday’s match, there will be a 50/50 raffle where all of the proceeds will benefit the Bridges United Foundation and fans will have the opportunity to donate via the Beer Garden, concessions, or just online.
Now, let’s preview the match itself.
Tacoma Stars
The Tacoma Stars currently sit in eighth place with seven points from ten matches. Their most recent result was a 1-1 draw with Bigfoot FC on the road. Tacoma’s goal came from Lunden Fenster, a versatile player who was part of Ballard FC’s Open Cup run.
The Stars lone win came against the West Seattle Junction early in the season at home, and they will be looking to win their first away match this Wednesday. Last season, the Tacoma Stars defeated Ballard FC 4-3 at Memorial Stadium and will look to have similar success at Interbay this summer. However to do so, they will need to look better than they did in the last encounter between these two clubs.
Last week Ballard FC racked up eleven goals on Tacoma, setting club records for number of goals scored in a single match and margin of victory. Ballard fans will be hoping for more of the same on Wednesday, with tons of goals scored and burgers thrown.
MATCH DETAILS
Gates: Gates open at 5:30pm! We suggest arriving early to enjoy the food and beer offerings, watch the players warm up, beat the hassle of traffic and parking, and to enjoy all of the prematch festivities. Also, the first 150 fans will get the above match poster FREE.
Food Vendors: Beyond the thrilling soccer action, Wednesday’s match will feature an array of food vendors, including Big Boys Filipino, and Mainstay Provisions. Also, before you head to Pagliacci Pitch, you can take advantage of the Pagliacci Pizza BOGO slice deal on game days. Just show your ticket at any Pagliacci location (except UW) and get two slices for the price of one. Outside food is not allowed in the venue except for Pagliacci Pizza.
Ballard Food Bank: We also encourage fans to support the community by bringing donations of canned beans for the Ballard food bank.
Beer Garden The Bridges United Foundation Beer Garden is back at Interbay Stadium this season. Unlike at Memorial last season, fans will be able to watch the match from the beer garden. The beer garden proudly serves Reuben’s Brews and this year will feature a second service station and the Orgullo Ajeno Tequila Zone.
Transportation: Parking is extremely limited. We highly recommend alternative forms of transportation, including biking as we will have the Wombi Bike Parking area available at every home match this year. Please also consider riding King County Metro on game day, where youth through age 18 always ride free! Check out transit mode in Google Maps, the TripPlanner.kingcounty.gov website, or an app like OneBusAway.
Live Stream: Can’t make it to the match? All Ballard FC matches will be streamed on SportsEngine Play. The stream for the match this Wednesday can be found HERE.
