Five players from the 2025 Ballard FC roster were selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday, December 18th.

Richie Aman, Zach Ramsey, Joe Dale, Austin Brummett, and Stockton Short all had good Thursdays this week as they heard their names called in the draft.
Aman and Ramsey are Ballard FC’s first-ever selections in the First Round of the MLS SuperDraft. After being named pre-signed senior as part of the 2026 Generation adidas class, Aman was selected eighth overall by D.C. United. Aman led Ballard FC in assists during his time with the club, recording double digit assists in 2025. After a great career with the University of Washington where he won a National Title and was named a Mac Hermann Award Finalist among several other individual awards, the winger is going from Washington State to Washington D.C. to start his professional career.
Ramsey is staying in Cascadia after he was selected 17th overall in the first round by the Vancouver Whitecaps. After a great first summer with Ballard FC where he scored two goals and dished out five assists, Ramsey just finished his sophomore season with the University of Washington and was named the Most Outstanding Player in the College Cup as well as First Team All-Big Ten.
Joining his Husky teammates selected in the draft is Dale as the local hero is staying in Seattle after being selected in the second round by Seattle Sounders FC with the 51st overall pick. Dale joined Ballard FC’s inaugural roster from open tryouts in 2022. Four seasons later, Dale has now won a National Championship with both Ballard FC and the University of Washington while captaining both sides in 2025. Dale will now continue his Seattle soccer story as he joins the Sounders.
The final two Ballard FC players selected came in the third round with Brummett and Short. Brummett was selected 78th overall by Houston Dynamo FC. Brummet played for Ballard FC in both 2024 and 2025. In 2024, he was the club’s leading goalscorer. Then in 2025 after being named a USL League Two Player to Watch, he led the team in goal contributions after scoring five goals and dishing out seven assists.
Joining Dale with Sounders FC is Short as he was selected by the Sounders with the 81st overall pick. The 2025 WAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year had a great first summer with Ballard FC as he won the starting job midseason and never looked back. He was between the post for the entire run to the National Final, helping the club win a Western Conference Championship and a third straight division title.
This is the most SuperDraft selections in Ballard FC history and the first year with multiple draft picks. In the past Stas Korzeniowski was selected in the 2024 SuperDraft by the Philadelphia Union, and Demian Alvarez was drafted last year by Seattle Sounders FC.
After Peter Kingston became the first Ballard FC player to make his MLS debut earlier this year, the club looks forward to watching more alumni succeed in the first division of American soccer.
Ballard FC is proud to be part of the soccer journey for all five players selected in the 2026 SuperDraft and cannot wait to continue to support them in their professional careers.
