Stockton Short is a first year player for Ballard FC. Before college, he was a three sport athlete (soccer, basketball, and football) at Weber High School. As a football player, Short was an all-region wide receiver and was recruited by Utah State University. As a soccer player, he won two state championships, was named “Mr. Soccer” in 2022 and holds the Utah state record for career shutouts (16). Short joined Utah Tech in the fall of 2022 where he started five matches as a freshman. As a sophomore, he won the starting job and started in all 18 matches, winning WAC Goalkeeper of the Week twice, once in August and another in October. Then last fall, Short set two program records: most saves in a single-season (105) and most saves in a single-match (11) in the program’s Division One era. His 105 saves was tied for the most saves in the entire country in 2024. Short won his third career WAC Goalkeeper of the Week award in October. After playing just x matches in 2025 for Utah Tech, Short suffered an early-season injury and took a medical redshirt to preserve his final year of eligibility. Short loved his summer in Seattle so much that he transferred to the University of Washington ahead of the 2026 season to finish his collegiate career.
