Ballard FC will be away from home this weekend with two road matches in Oregon against Lane United and PDX FC. After a 5-0 start, Ballard FC will look to come back to Ballard with their record still perfect. Fans can watch both matches live at Reuben’s Brews, and live stream details will be provided on matchday. Heading into the weekend road trip, let’s take a look at the division standings.

The first of the weekend will be in Eugene on Friday, June 16th against Lane United at 7:00 PM. Lane United are three points from second place and the coveted final playoff spot in the division and have a game in hand. Lane will be eager to jump into second place by getting revenge against Ballard FC. Earlier in the season, Ballard FC were victorious at home, winning 3-0. Lane United goalkeeper Brandon Limes made a penalty save and several more diving stops to keep the score at three. Both Ballard FC strikers found the net in that match as Stas Korzeniowski and Alex Mejia each had a goal. So far, Mejia has seven in five matches, and Korzeniowski has five in five. Ballard FC will hope their strikers can find similar success on Friday. Last season, Lane United away did give Ballard FC trouble as they escaped with a 2-2 draw in the dying moments as Declan McGlynn scored an equalizer with the last kick of the match. With a dedicated group of supporters, Eugene will not be an easy place to win.

Ballard FC’s second match of the weekend will be in Portland against PDX FC at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 18th. PDX FC secured their first points of the USL2 season last weekend as they drew 2-2 with last season’s Northwest Division champions, CFC Atletico. PDX FC will be looking to carry that form into this weekend and grab points from Sunday’s match with Ballard FC. Although Ballard FC did defeat PDX FC 7-0 earlier this season with seven different goalscorers, Portland has not been an easy place to play for Ballard FC. Earlier this season, Ballard FC needed a late comeback to win 2-1 against the other Portland team in the division, United PDX. And last season, it was pretty much the same when Ballard took on PDX FC away from home. Taketo Onodera scored a late header to win it in the 82nd minute, giving Ballard FC all three points. PDX FC will look to make Sunday’s match even tighter than last season’s meeting and Coach Farrell’s men will need to be prepared for a hard-fought match.
After the road trip in Oregon, Ballard FC will return to Interbay Stadium next Friday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM to face Oly Town FC. Ballard FC will look to make it three wins out of three against Oly Town this season in front of the home crowd. Next Friday’s match will celebrate local businesses as it is our Support Small Business Night. Tickets are still available but act fast as all three USL2 matches at Interbay have been sold out so far this season. Get your tickets for next Friday’s match today!
